Established over 30 years
SETTING THE GLOBAL STANDARD
Liquid Motion® is the world’s only accrediting body dedicated exclusively to underwater cinematography and filmmaking at the highest professional level.
For more than 30 years, Liquid Motion has set the benchmark for what is possible beneath the surface — not only in technical mastery, but in creativity, safety, ethics, and visual authorship.
This is not a certificate.
It is custodianship.

WHAT DEFINES PROFESSIONAL UNDERWATER FILMMAKING TRAINING
At the highest level, underwater cinematography is not taught — it is transmitted through decades of real-world professional practice.
- A demonstrated body of work at broadcast and cinematic level
- Mastery of camera, light, movement, narrative, and post
- Direct mentor-led transmission, not fragmented or cascaded instruction
- Environmental responsibility and non-destructive practice
- Creative authorship — not technical execution alone
These are the standards against which Liquid Motion® Accreditation is measured.

WHY ACCREDITATION EXISTS
The underwater imaging world has expanded rapidly. True professional standards remain rare.
Technical access has increased. Mastery has not.
Creativity without foundation is limited. Art without environmental responsibility is dangerous.
Liquid Motion® Accreditation exists to define, protect, and transmit the level required to operate professionally — creatively, technically, and responsibly — beneath the surface.
This is not a certificate. It is custodianship.
Accreditation is stewardship of a craft — and responsibility to the ocean that makes it possible.
APPLIED PROFESSIONAL ACCREDITATIONS
Within the Liquid Motion® framework, specialised accreditations exist where clear professional standards are required.
The Liquid Motion® Non-Destructive Underwater Imaging Accreditation formalises the environmental awareness, buoyancy control, spatial responsibility, and reef-safe practice integral to all Liquid Motion training — designed for adoption by dive operations, tourism authorities, and conservation organisations.
