“By the time I got to Cozumel, I had a solid plan for my training and all of the extras to make the trip easy (lodging, restaurant suggestions, etc). When we first started the training in person, it was clear that one of my weaknesses was my diving.  I was a little concerned that it could de-rail my training.  However, Guy is not only an expert underwater filmmaker, he’s a lifetime experienced dive instructor.  We pretty quickly adjusted all my diving issues and, by day 2, we were back to focusing on camera work. 

I was also a little concerned about being able to make the kind of improvements I needed to make in the week that I was there. I knew that I needed to leave the course with a thorough understanding of underwater filming and a level of comfort in my skills to assure my client that I could make it work.  Guy told me to “trust the process” and I did. By day 3 I was starting to get pretty good footage and was feeling comfortable with both my diving and the camera.  Days 4 and 5 were a lot of fun and became more about getting some shots to prove to my client and myself that I would be able to make the film.  By the end of the course, I felt confident in my diving and my camera work and I’m still totally astounded at how fast it all happened. 

The setting was beautiful – every dive was spectacular.  Reefs, fish, stingrays and turtles made the experience and the footage even more than I had hoped for or expected.  My wife came along and we stayed a couple of extra days as Cozumel is affordable and the people are so friendly – we are definitely planning to come back. 

I can’t thank Guy and Anita enough.  It was a transformational and really great experience and it quickly opened up all sorts of new opportunities for my career. In short, if you plan to do underwater filming or photography, there is absolutely no better place in the world to learn to do it than Liquid Motion Academy.
