“The experience of how Guy broke down the pieces of what I needed to learn into concise and specific actionable feedback was really incredible! It reminded me of the way Mr. Miyagi taught in Karate Kid…”
“He was able to pick up on and to diagnose the problems with my approach so quickly, and to really get down to the essence of what I needed to learn…”
“I learned an incredible amount of information and gained invaluable experience in photography, filmmaking, editing, fish behaviour, diving, visual arts, business ideas, and much, much more during my time with the Liquid Motion Academy”
“Guy and Anita really have a genuine interest in mentoring photographers and seeing them grow over time. I really can’t thank them enough…”
“This Underwater Photography Course and workshop was an incredible experience for me. The didactic pre-course online sessions were a valuable surprise addition, well formulated, and organized. Guy was excellent in answering all my questions. What was truly helpful was that when he approached making me a better photographer, Guy considered not just the process of photography, but also my air usage, the role of trim and buoyancy, and even the impact of my BCD. The experience of how he broke down the pieces of what I needed to learn into concise and specific actionable feedback was really incredible and reminded me of the way Mr. Miyagi taught in Karate Kid. I’ve made multiple changes to my diving, to my trim, have swapped my BCD for a wing/harness, and of course to my photography process! The result is that on my recent trip I felt SO much more comfortable and was able to hover to get much improved shark and turtle photos. Guy and Anita even went out of their way to help me to try new gear out on the trip to make sure that it worked for me. Further, I learned about strobe placement, editing, and the overall experience increased my interest in photography, so much so that I’ve sought additional mentoring for my land photography, and am looking forward to bringing this learning to my underwater work. Anita is from the first to the last moment, before and after the trip, a consummate professional, one of the sweetest people in terms of her concern and focus on making people’s trips the best possible, and she is genuinely a people person and a real delight. She also gave great restaurant recs. She is organized and keeps everything ‘running’ in such a wonderful way in terms of the logistics. Even after my trip, Guy and Anita helped me with different questions, including advice about camera and dive gear, and their responses were just as quick after the course had ended as they were before I came to town for the course–that is, I feel like Guy and Anita really have a genuine interest in mentoring photographers and seeing them grow over time. I really can’t thank them enough”
