PART 1: THE FINE ART OF PHOTOGRAPHY

10 modules, with assignments. Part 1 is an essential foundation for a career in photography, both on land, and underwater.

A professional picture is a moment of creative genius, backed up by a flawless technique. Know your camera the way a painter knows his brushes. This is where everything starts, and when the beauty begins. In this section, you will will experiment and explore your aesthetic and professional goals as you begin to shoot quickly and expressively from the first day.

This section is an incomparable, essential foundation to prepare for any high-end career in photography. Manipulate light, depth of field and compose your image perfectly. Capture the emotions you want people to feel.

From street photography to professional portraiture, landscape or fashion, the fundamental basics to lenses and advanced, creative work, this module implements vital photographic knowledge, whilst enhancing artistic vision and creative image development. From composition and exposure to camera settings and lighting scenarios, your Instructor will customise and tailor your learning based on your interests and professional goals.

You’ll learn how to develop concepts, work with subjects, explore and shoot with natural and artificial light, and bring images to life. You’ll learn to make a picture stunning by telling its story.

PART 2: IMAGE ENHANCEMENT & EDITING

Part 2 is a no-nonsense approach to the art and beauty of professional editing, and implements ultimate image mastery, to annihilate all boundaries of creativity.

10 customized modules include and are not limited to file management, colour grading, backscatter removal, depth of field and exposure adjustment, image composite, enhancement, reconstruction, Photoshop and Lightroom workflow and a strong foundation for colour correction & control (a must, especially for underwater photography). You will develop a seamless photo editing workflow for your photography business and know how to develop, enhance and present your art.

PART 3: UNDERWATER PHOTOGRAPHY

This section covers 10 days of diving, totalling 20 dives, when you take everything underwater. From concept to delivery, it all comes together.

Mastering the numerous necessary adaptions to an ever-changing aquatic realm is an integral part of the creative process required for award-winning underwater photography. Capturing behaviour, action and emotion really bring your images to life.

Integrating technical knowledge with artistic exploration and creativity, topics include underwater camera management, stability and movement, textures, colours, positioning, wide angle, macro, depth of field manipulation, composition, how to use light for specific scenarios such as macro, wide angle work or portraiture and the best techniques for capturing the light in various places, at any time of day.

You’ll learn how to anticipate and troubleshoot problems that may arise during underwater shoots and successfully manage a professional underwater production in its entirety. Adapted and customised to fit your specific personal interests or professional career goals, the program covers areas such as marine life approach, non-destructive camera techniques, studio shooting, underwater model/portraiture, advertising and art.

This section is the ultimate development in underwater photography to step away from ‘fish ID’ and begin your unique creative underwater photography journey. It provides a complete, hands-on experience, and covers all aspects and elements of underwater photography, with 100% customised, one-on-one support all the way. PART 4: "BEYOND" PHOTOGRAPHY TO FINE ART
